Shasvastii Sectorial Army

Shasvastii are my favorite Combined Army sectorial in Infinity. They used to have absolute dogshit models, but Corvus Beli went all out on the refresh, and now they are possibly the best looking alien faction in the game.

The way I usually describe Shasvastii to people is: imagine all the camouflage and hunting tactics of a Predator, without any of the honor code or desire for glory. Shasvastii are sneaky, devious, invisible and love to fuck with their pray. They are also survivalists. Each adult carries an Embryo that will hatch upon their death, devour their corpse and grow into fully functional Shasvastii within a day or two, ready to continue their mission.

Color Scheme:

  • Primer: Chaos Black
  • Zenithal Primer: Ceramite White
  • Armor: Asurmen Blue, Baal Red
  • Skin: Striking Scorpion Green
  • Weapons: Broadsword Silver (Army Painter Speed Paint)
  • Coats: Snakebite Leather
  • Base: Genesteeler Purple, Druchii Purple Wash, Martian Flock (Green Stuff World)

I use a similar technique as with my Marvel Crisis Protocol minis for these models: I prime them black, then dry-brush with white and use contrast paints on top. This provides deeper shading, but less vibrant colors than contrasts over white primer.

The Units

Gwalio - the heavy infantry trooper with an HMG. Unlike most of the units in my army he does not have camouflage and stomps harder than my TAG receiving no benefits of cover. He does, however have mimentism, because Shasvatii.

Sphinx - possibly the best TAG in the game, insane movement, camouflage, mimetism, and a big HMG and flamer.

Med Tech Obsidion Mechanoid - the infamous Doctor Worm. Unfortunately Shasvastii don’t have their own Doctor model, so they are using the Combined Army standard issue worm-bro who is also an engineer and demo-specialist.

I used Orc Flesh for his skin to differentiate him from the Shasvastii a bit. He still fits the overall color scheme.
